Has anyone seen the true story of Rodriguez?
A brillant documentary film about a singer from the late 60's who was expected to become bigger than Dylan....... except his records flopped.
He disapeared into obscurity but unknown to him he became absoutly huge in South Africa who had heard stories of his suicide.
His songs have been in my head since we saw the film two weeks ago.
He had no idea he was such an influence (Bear in mind this is the time of apartheid, censorship, limited tv, no internet, mobile phones etc)
I have bought tickets today to see him in Manchester.
