I can leave my 2 boys (twins) at the gym for 3 hours and go to the local shopping centre just enough time for the pictures. Some of my friends think I am mad going alone, what can you do if all your friends are at work!!!

yes, going on my own in the afternoon - leaving kids with a child minder is my greatest indulgence and pleasure at the moment. Total escapism and feeds the non-mother side of me which is all but neglected. as a result i now dislike going to the movies with others - find it more liberating and relaxing alone.

I used to do this all the time, key is to look completely unconcerned about the fact you're on your own.

In fact I once went to see the excellent Terry Gilliam documentary \link{http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0308514/\Lost in La Mancha} at an "early bird" special at a cinema in Edinburgh (so cost about 2 quid) only to find they were showing it on the premiere screen, normal price 12 quid or so, fantastic!

I've been on my own, it is fab, really indulgent particularly if you get a nice box of too good/expensive to share chocolates to take with you. Smile

I've been on my own. Getting to focus on one thing w/o interruption for 1.5+ is a real treat!

I've always gone alone a lot even though I have plenty of friends who love the cinema too. Sometimes it nice to just escape on my own. Don't do it so much now - the days when I went to the cinema 3 times a week are long gone.

Yes have been on my own if I want to see the film and no-one else does, or if I just want to go out on my own. I am not embarrassed to go places alone - lots of people I know are.

These were the days before I had dd of course!
