Hugo - anyone seen it??

Just got back and came on here to see what others thought as I found it boring.

The 3D is spectacular, best I've seen, especially inside the station clocks where Hugo lives.

However, there's very little plot. I had thought it would be about bringing an automaton back to life which then conveys messages to Hugo from his dead father. But really it is about an old pioneer of cinema so way to adult to be a kids movie. At nearly 2 hours it is far too long.

Sacha Baron Cohen as a station master out to put Hugo in an orphanage is truly appalling - extremely stilted delivery and only 1 funny episode.

My DC 7 and 10 said they enjoyed it so maybe it was just me.

Dd 11enjoyed it but she had read the book.
