just watched this, really good though gritty, wish more films were like this one!

still on watch again on iplayer if anyone wants to watch something good for a change

I saw this. It was hard to watch in places. Thought the girl who played Mia was amazing, apparently a complete unknown. Found the relationship between the Mum and her daughters heart breaking, yet couldn't hate the Mum. The way it was shot was good too really managed to get across that dusty, hopeless, closed in council estate atmosphere.

I loved how among the grim urban scenes were those astonishing scenes when they drive out to, was it somewhere in Essex? and the landscape is beautiful and bucolic.

I thought the girl playing the lead was really exceptional. Michael Fassbender was superb. In fact everyone was excellent. It's a terrific film and I can't wait to see her Wuthering Heights.
