Has anyone else seen this,and if so what did you think of it?

I watched for the second time today,and I'm still very confused. I realise that it's not really a thriller,or at least that's not the point of it,and that it's really about French/Algerian relations and history,but I do wish it had a conclusive ending. I realise that the two boys are talking at the end,but I'm not entirely sure what it means.

Who do you think was sending the tapes?

i believe the tapes were sent by the son of the Algerian man who had been rejected by his adoptive family.
It appears to be dealing with middle class french people who lead nice comfy lives and also have dark pasts
it is about poverty and jealousy, wealth and racism
it is so sad and dark.

I do think Majid's son was the most likely candidate,though I'm unsure if Pierrot was also involved.

I read an interview with the director in which he said that he had written dialogue for the final scene,with Majid's son and Pierrot,but that he'd never reveal it,which is frustrating.

The other thing I'm curious to know is why make Georges six at the time of the incident.
Surely one can't really blame a six year old for being a typical,selfish and thoughtless six year old?

Or did the director do this to state that no matter how long ago the massacre,and other atrocities against the Algerians, happened,that reparations must still be made?

Or was it George's lack of guilt that's the issue here,no matter how young he was when it happened that he should try to make amends for it and acknowledge what he did to Majid?

If I remember correctly...

The last video showed the school that the couple's son (Pierrot) attended. Since he doesn't appear in the video I think this may be a clue that Pierrot was the one actually filming it.

The final scene shows Majid's son and Pierrot talking,on the school steps.
