Saw The Fighter today - fantastic film. It has pathos, great funny bits, fantastic writing and wonderful acting.

It's not graphic and bloody, and the addition bits are beautifully done.

The only fault is the Budweiser product placing which was a bit warring.

A definate go see movie

Does Christain Bale look nice in this film? I'm sure I briefly saw him on a trailer and his face looked all sucked in and haggard!!!

teahouse · 05/02/2011 21:47

Christian Bale looks awful - but his acting is fantastic. Mark Wahlberg looks good though ;o)

I have been this morning to see it.

I loved it!!

Great film and I felt I was at the ringside urging Mickey to do 'head, body, head, body,!! I had to sit on my hands!!

Saw this last night- brilliant. I am not a boxing fan ,but this was such a great film, the boxing was not the 'whole' story.

Christian Bale was phenomenal, he certainly throws himself into the part. I read somewhere that his weight loss was criticised, but he said you never see a crack addict with any fat on them. Brad Pitt was meant to take the role, am glad he didn't really. I think Mark Wahlberg was equally good, a bit over shadowed by Bale's method acting, which is a shame.

Also Raah if you noticed at the end when the credits were rolling there were interviews and comments from the Mickey and Dickey. Bale looked almost identical to Dickey. In real life Dickey is incredibly skinny.

Saw this Saturday night and absolutely loved it as well. Agree about Bale and the real Dickey but it was also the mannerisms, he totally nailed him. Great film and fabulous performances.

i thought it was slow

good towards the end

I went out with Dh last night and we were talking about the film because we had seen it in the morning.

I was saying how good I thought it was and he said he thought it went all 'sentimental and unrealistic at the end' I had to explain to the muppet that it actually happened and it was a true story and not only that but Mickey went on to win more titles!
