Soooooooooo - anyone seen it apart from me n Spookyserenity?

Went on Thursday and loved it. I had had the forethought to think "hmmm this is JW we're dealing with, someone main isn't gonna make it"... thought it would be Jayne though

I felt that you did really need to have seen the series to get the full feel for it (the shepherd must've just confused most non-fireflyers).

Oodles of proper laughing out loud bits ... Did you think the axe at the end was just reused from Buffy though??? Looked awfully familiar!!!

OK, so I expected one as well, but the second was just out of nowhere and they were safe, that was just plain mean!

Didn't really notice the axe in that way until you mentioned it, but that was a Buffy titles stance with the axe although no drippy blood with her

I think people will get more out of it if they've seen the series first, but I was quite impressed with the history bit at the beginning. It gave all the relevant info without actually feeling like a recap iyswim.

Still keep thinking 'Nooooooooo not him!'

Really must go to bed now.

I'm still on Nooooooooo too

Not good when you're pregnant and overly emotional (I sat there welling up ). The Shepherd hadn't worn well over the past couple of years, he seemed to have suddenly made the leap from an older man, to an old man Feel like I want a prequel now though to find out how he did know so much about the Alliance - ohhh, maybe he is the assasin guy sent back from the past?!!? Is it too early in the morning for farfetched theories??

I think that they've left it open enough to continue, either with another film or by recommissioning the series. I'd love to know what Book was all about, he was a bit too mysterious and kickass to be just a priest. Noname badguy could come back too. The Alliance still needs fighting, the reavers need sorting out, lots of ways the plot could go.

am with you on the "nooooooooo!"
really didn;t see that one coming. and I just lurve him too.
the cinema I was in was pretty much full (at 2.30 on Sunday) so looking good for the sequel. LOTS of laughing out loud.
I think that someone who hadn't seen the series would have been pretty confused by the Inara (sp?) thing though.

Yup, she must have seemed really odd - you could tell the basics - she'd lived there, unspoken love, but that was about it.

Lots of good continuation out there though - pleeeeeeeeease
