It seemed that the totem might be about to stop spinning from it's sound.

i'm not sure - awake i think... but even if he is dreaming he's made his decision to stay in that dream now forever so is that any different from being awake anyway???

Dunno about him, but I fell asleep half way through.

I thought asleep as top went on so suspiciously long, but friend at work pointed out the kids at the end were different, older, actors than the the ones in the flashbacks so he thinks awake.

me too watched it again today - makes more sense the 2nd time!

I haven't seen it, but it's something to do with his ring. If he's wearing it he's dreaming. Or the other way round. Or something.

Gawd knows. I know I wasn't awake during much of it.

Watched it last week. I was sooo disappointed - I really wanted to love this film and had been on at dh for ages about it.

I thought it was great! Dh was confused. He obviously doesn't share my superior intellect.

I thought he was dreaming. He didn't wait for the totem to stop spinning before he went to see the children. In the rest of the film he always waited till it stopped spinning. And the children were exactly the same age, although you never saw their faces till the end. And the way the film started was definitely not at the beginning. And they always say that you never remember the beginning of your dream. The whole thing was his dream. I reckon...
