I have been looking forward to this film for yonks!!

went last night - enjoyed it, but didn't love it (obviously I will require a second viewing for the love to form)

Certainly didn't find it 'darker' than the last one (though it think Part 2 will be!)

Saw this yesterday at the Big Scream with some of my NCT group - really enjoyed it! Loved the animation of the three brothers, as everyone else on the thread did...

There were a couple of people in our group who hadn't read the books and didn't get it all, especially with being interrupted for feeds and so forth! Think it's a bit harder to understand if you haven't read it too, but I agree that it's not as hard to follow as some of the earlier films. Though all three main actors were pretty good actually though as with others i particularly loved Snape and Bellatrix, and Luna gets some great lines too.

Took the DP who was more excited to see it than I was. I've read all the books and was disappointed with the first two movies so I wasn't expecting this film to be any good. How wrong I was, okay it had major plot holes but it was a good film and I'm certainly looking forward to Part 2.

DH and I saw it with MiL on Friday night.

I really enjoyed it, despite the obvious plot omissions.

I think it also set a record for the shortest amount of time lapsed before yours truly starts blubbing.

The scene at Hermione's house with her parents set me off.

And naturally I sobbed at the demise of Dobby.

Know what you mean Cavemum - can't think of another film where I've been blubbing within the first 5 minutes.

I've never rated Emma Watson at all, but she is fantastic in this.

Loved it. :)

I only saw this this week, but I loved it - it was my favourite HP film so far.

Disappointed about the missing Lupin scene but I guess they had to cut something.

I did find it irritating how at the beginning there was a lot of "Oh hi Harry, I'm a major character, who you've never met" - I felt it detracted a bit from how important they are supposed to be later on, and it highlighted how much was cut from earlier films.

The bit that really annoyed me and had me muttering irritatedly at the screen was the harry/hermione scenes. Completely out of character, in the books their relationship is platonic and it was really really not on screen. I'm not sure if this was supposed to be inciting a love triangle thing as someone said above or just perpetuating the myth that a man and woman can't possibly just be friends.

Also didn't really like the harry/hermione naked bit - they looked creepy and twilight like! But it was a dream type image so can be excused I suppose.

Rupert Grint is ... mmmm Wink (and I'm the same age as him so it's okay Grin I guess I've had a little crush since the first film came out when I was... 13?? Blush)

Rupert Grint, not the same age as me but still mmmmmm. Think it's because Ron is a bit of a favourite of mine in the books.

DasherandSmugly · 09/12/2010 21:41

I loved it but I don't understand how you could work out what was going on without having read the books. I came home and re-read DH to give me the background.

potplant · 10/12/2010 22:33

Rupert grint is very mmmm and I'm nowhere near his age.

I felt asleep during the movie.
