Loved it! Loved and love Clive!

'Bout time an appreciation thread sprang up again!

Closer was utter rot. Normally I like 'people watching' type films, but this just ambled along and went nowhere. Dh and I turned it off after 45 minutes.

We thought it was great - we could also see it as a stage play & if I can find it on anywhere, I'd definetely try to get tickets.

I thought Clive Owen was a bit dangerous & utterly compelling - I keep asking everyone I see if they've watched it. I do think his teeth were a bit white though !

I met Clive Owen once- Lovely. It was after 'Chancer' and 'Close my Eyes'. I t was very polite. I'm looking forward to seeing Closer.

I'm with NdP on this one. I went to see it at the cinema and did sit through the whole thing, but thought all the characters were so utterly horrible I didn't give a monkeys what happened to them.

acnebride · 22/09/2005 13:27

I loved it, though would agree all characters were fairly horrible. Great dialogue though.

'What are you - twelve?' why can't I say that sort of thing to guys?

Loved Clive, wanted to lick him all over. Ohhhhh, feel all hot & bothered just thinking about it.
Hooooweeeeeeeever, found the film disturbing. Having endured the break up of my marriage over the last two years, I found some of the very raw emotion extremely uncomfortable.
What did you think Mojomummy?

Cam · 22/09/2005 15:06

There's another thread on this in movie reviews, when the film came out in the cinema

Iklboo · 22/09/2005 15:11

Didn't like the film, but he was really good in Sin City. B&W film really does something extra for him wouldn't mind doing a few extras for him myself, mind)

suzywong · 22/09/2005 15:19

I saw the play and the original cast were outstnading as an ensemble, don't think I could stomach nat, jude and julia doing it. Don't mind Clive though

Who was it on here that shagged Clive in RL?

bundle · 22/09/2005 15:19

hated the stage version, thought it contrived and dull.

Bugsy2 · 22/09/2005 15:24

Oh SW, wish it had been me!!!!!!!!!! Swoooooooon.

Mojomummy · 22/09/2005 15:28

I thought it was very interesting. I had no expectations, unlike DH. I enjoyed watching the characters respond to situations, the mind games of (dangerous & honest) Clive Owen. I also recognised alot of those traits/behaviours, in myself/ex boyfriends/friends. In all, a thought provoking & enjoyable film !

We might watch it again tonight....

I've just watched it and thought was utter tripe! RUBBISH with a capital R!
