Yeah I know its early but I have to xmas shopping early otherwise I get stressy and run out of money...
So we just brought my Gran a dvd player and shes managed to get to grips with using it so I thinking I'd get her a few dvds to watch and was after some ideas?
Think inoffensive sunday evening drama type stuff - want to get films rather than tv box sets.....

Hmmm. Is she into classic movies?

Well if she is then I recommend The King and I with Deborah Kerr. It's a musical tho, not sure if she'll like that, but I find it a really nice movie to watch.

Not necessarily just classic movies but yes I would have thought king and I would be good (adds to list) Thanks :)

if she likes musicals, amazon have a very good value box set for about seventeen quid, can't remember the name but it's got american in paris, annie get your gun, singing in the rain, seven brides, uuurm... gigi, calamity jane and high society in it. all lovely fillums in mine and dd1's opinion.

Try here - lots of discounted old films and boxed sets. Or the BBC shop?

PS: my mum is a similar age, and her favourite film is Mrs Miniver.
