I was in a relationship with someone, and I’m wondering if these are not good signs, or if I’m overthinking. Need some other girls’ opinions.
So I was dating this guy who is often the victim in his stories of his past relationships. I’m not sure why he dated all these girls if he didn’t like them as such, and the way he spoke about them was very mean spirited. Usually, I believe victims but his stories felt off. No one else I dated before talked about their ex girlfriends this maliciously so I was a bit confused. He has so many stories that I almost feel the main issue is with himself, but don’t want to jump to conclusions.
Whenever we’re talking about our favorite things, he doesn’t remember things I tell him, or says “me too” even when he’s not into the things I’m into. I found out that he had his friends teach him about things I liked to impress me. I would have preferred him to be honest and ask me directly instead of having his friends coach him. I wouldn’t have judged him for liking different things than I do. And there were some cringey moments where he tried to guess things I liked correctly, but those were obviously image searched on Google or looked up on the internet, because in no way he would have guessed those things.
He started talking ill about some of his close friends as well, which really put me off. So I finally asked him to end the relationship, as he has not improved at all from my previous confrontations about this issue. He sent me really long messages in an attempt to gaslight me and telling me that I’m “misunderstanding”
him because he’s from another country. But his English is extremely fluent and he works for a major company. So not sure why he’s playing victim on text. I feel like this is how he got dumped in his past relationships and made up bad stories about each of his exes to appeal to new women. I should not give him another chance right? I gave him too many.
