Has anyone seen this "Mayday" women's strike idea going around on tiktok?

PeriMumEndofHerTether · 18/02/2026 13:39

So I’ve been seeing something growing on TikTok about a proposed “May Day” (as in Matriarchy Day) on Friday 13th March, where parents would withdraw their children from school and nursery... stay home from paid work where possible, due to the inaction around the Epstein atrocities.

A lot of the discussion seems to have been sparked by recent high-profile cases and concerns that powerful institutions don’t properly protect women and children. I’m a mum, and honestly I feel more anxious about the world my DC are growing up in than I ever have before.

It feels like every few months there’s another scandal, another failure of accountability, and ordinary families are just expected to carry on. Part of me thinks a symbolic withdrawal (Friday 13th!!!) ... even just a conversation starter. I've been reading the files and I can't stop crying and there just isn't enough action to name names and convict them, I'm so angry about the lack of justice and what are we suppposed to tell our kids about who is running the world and what they're up to. Has anyone else seen this? What do you think?

CookingFatCat · 18/02/2026 13:41

I definitely feel something needs to happen. Men in the corporate world, those in power, and as a men collective, men won’t do anything.

It does sound a bit pointless, but in 1975 the women of Iceland went on strike and they now have one of the most equal societies in the world. Not necessarily causative, but it makes you think.

It still remains an utterly corrupt society though.

Olderandwiserpossibly · 18/02/2026 13:57

I agree with you that what the Epstein files is revealing is absolutely abhorrent.
And I can see why women feel strongly about this.
But I'm afraid I am very sceptical about any calls to take action that are generated on the medium of Tiktok. I don't use it and never would but my perception of it is that women's welfare and rights and safety hasn't much to do with it's raison d' etre.

ProfessorBinturong · 18/02/2026 14:32

Withdrawing children from school and women looking after them at home won't do anything. The point of the Iceland women's strike was to inconvenience men - withdrawing domestic labour, not merely paid work.

Literally no one has been investigated or prosectuted, besides 1 woman. When there are hundreds and hundreds who have done unspeakable acts on babies and children. There's a global strike being planned out of America too. The people running the world literally eat and r**e babies and so of course that is why no one is being named.

This is the inevitable conclusion of what happens when men rule unchecked. The humanity is gone. I can't stop crying about it. Babies. Eating fucking babies alive.

Have you seen the videos?

Sorry which videos?
I've been following the whole affair and im currently reading Virginia Guiffre's book. I 've seen disturbing photos and read some of the files
But I haven't seen any videos.

So do they think taking the day off is going to lead to prosecutions?

It's a movement and a series of strikes. I guess some women care about men eating babies and children but apparently not on MN! Irony.

Sorry OP but who has been eating babies? Is this true or are you using an expression?

goz · 18/02/2026 16:17

Bizzare, not sure of the link between paying for nursery and not using it has anything to do with Epstein.
Is there a particular person you want extradited for a particular crime?

This might be the stupidest thing I’ve seen on the internet.

Do you need mental help? There has been nothing in the released Epstein files that is any sort of proof of eating babies.

FlatErica · 18/02/2026 16:19

I don’t see how taking the day off work to do childcare send any sort of signal.

Plumbernightmare · 18/02/2026 16:21

OP, don't believe everything you see on TikTok. Epstein was undoubtedly beyond the scummiest of humans, but I'm pretty sure nobody's eating babies.

And a PP is correct - for any type of strike action to work, it has to inconvenience someone. Literally nobody is impacted if you take your kids out of childcare for the day. You still pay for the place, and you yourself are providing the childcare. Zero impact.

You are being really fucking weird here. I’m asking what they think they will achieve, but you have translated that to me thinking it’s fine for men to eat babies.

C152 · 18/02/2026 17:33

Without specific goals, I can't see it achieving anything substantial. At best, it might end up like 'Me Too', where there was a modicum of temporary improvement before things became much worse.

HeatonGrov · 18/02/2026 17:41

If you are in UK I would encourage you to focus your efforts on addressing the systematic abuse of vulnerable children in the northern mill towns by gangs of predatory men. Why are certain members of Parliament so determined to play this down?

You have little or no influence on the Epstein saga. The British angle is already being dealt with. The two British men implicated have already lost jobs and status and are being investigated by the police.

IPoopRainblows · 18/02/2026 18:50

So I had a look on TikTok and it really is utter nonsense. Example of one

‘ March 13th will be known as the day of the female led revolution, the day that was unlucky for predators’ overlaying a woman tossing her hair and pouting whilst also looking a bit menacing.

ProfessorBinturong · 18/02/2026 18:52

This is why I stay off TikTok.

aBuffetofunreasonableness · 19/02/2026 09:15

‘ March 13th will be known as the day of the female led revolution, the day that was unlucky for predators’ overlaying a woman tossing her hair and pouting whilst also looking a bit menacing.

It sounds pathetic, how is sitting at home with a kid meant to inspire revolution or change how women are treated?

POWNewcastleEastWallsend · 20/02/2026 03:15

PeriMumEndOfHerTether I have to agree with PP that this "May Day" March 13th protest sounds ridiculous and pointless but I can understand that you want to do something.

Be reassured, the "eating live babies" allegations are also nonsense.

Are there really files that talk about eating babies in epstein files
https://factually.co/fact-checks/justice/epstein-files-eating-babies-claims-explained-e95f05

(There is one allegation from an anonymous man to the FBI - who also claimed that he was tortured on Epstein's yacht by having his feet cut with scimitars but they left no scars.)

Fact Check: Viral Cannibalism Photos Not Part of the Epstein Files
"Tempo verified the content using reverse image searches and compared it with credible media reports. The results show that the photos claiming to depict cannibalism are actually scenes from horror films, not part of the Epstein Files."

25 Epstein files claims we've investigated since their public release
Snopes has fielded dozens of claims after the DOJ began releasing redacted case files related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
https://www.snopes.com/collections/epstein-files-claims/

There are pages and pages more Epstein File stories debunked, many of them involving fake photos and videos. These pages each contain links to 20 articles - some of them verifying stories but many more of them are debunking claims:

Really good advice from PP to stay away from TikTok.

Also good advice from HeatonGrov to focus closer to home on things you could do that would make a difference ❤️

For example, there are some suggestions here:
https://www.stopgroominggangs.com/

Fiona is looking for help arranging speaking events around the UK. maybe there will be one near you.
https://x.com/fionagoddarduk/status/2017179209974632677

Also, search for "Survivors ball-Healing hearts"

You have been tormenting yourself over fake stories and I am not going to suggest that you dive into the real-life horror revealed by the Rape Gang Inquiry.

Look instead for ways you can help without exposing yourself to material that will cause you even further distress 💐

Woudlnt a better protest to be if you start dating a man and there are red flags galore dont move in with him and or have kids with him, then pretend the red flags were not there in the first place

Isnt the best protest showing children you decide to have what a decent father and person is? if they are not decent then don't stay with them?

The best role model for children starts at home show them what a decent relationship is

women have choices children do not
