It was recommended to me on the main page of medium, needless to say I was completely disgusted, what in the MAGA shit is that?

What's your issue with it?

ProfessorBinturong · 25/11/2025 13:10

I can only see the into, but I'm going to make a wild guess at the problems being trivialising and normalising 'sex work'. And assuming that men willing to buy women are representative of their whole generation.

BatchCookBabe · 25/11/2025 13:12

Could you explain what is atrocious about it? What am I missing?

Kiqiko,

The Medium article is not available to non-subscribers.

Like other commenters here, I don't understand your issue with the article, because I can't read the article.

Obviously, you can't copy and paste it here for copyright reasons.

But could you please give your reasons as to why this article disgusted you?

BatchCookBabe · 26/11/2025 21:47

I don't think the OP is coming back.

We will never know what she found sooooo atrocious about the article! 😱

Mayflower282 · 26/11/2025 22:07

I’m not sure if the article is pointing out the difference in generations, or actually just the difference in ages 🤷‍♀️ young men are more nervous and eager to please, older men don’t care so much and just take what they want…the author makes it seem like it’s linked to social media, but I just think it’s a normal men getting older and caring less.

I'm afraid you're right. It's a pity - why start the thread in the first place?

As to the article, can't speculate beyond knowing that it's a sex worker's perspective on the generational divide between Gen X men and Gen Z men.

Sounds like it might be interesting - not sure why it would be "atrocious."

Dolly96 · 27/11/2025 14:11

OK, the writer of the article is showing how the two generations differ in their behaviour and outlook, with Gen X being more self-assured and Gen Z being more in need of validation.

She gives reasons for this, such as social media ("Your follower count defines your value.") and the anxiety Gen Z has over how they are perceived rather than how happy they are in themselves ("...where even your morning routine is content to be optimized.")

Gen X, on the other hand, "learned self-sufficiency because no one was watching. Latchkey kids with working parents, they came home to empty houses and figured out shit on their own. Privacy was the default..."

There's more, and it's well worth your time reading it all. Very interesting stuff.

Doesn't answer the question of why it's "atrocious," though...
