Reddit banned me for copying and pasting the Google AI definition of male and female

The context of my doing that wasn't trolling either. It was on a thread where a woman called out a trans-woman saying she wasn't a real woman.

In a sea of threats and calls for violence towards the biological woman, criticising her looks, accusing her of thinking women are just incubators and so on, mis-contextualising what she said and trying to extrapolate all sorts of nonsense from that I was trying to point out although I don't agree with street harassment, she was in fact correct.

The thing which really surprised me was the amount of biological women hating the biological woman in the video for objecting to the man dressed as a woman being called a man dressed as a woman

Anyhow Reddit banned me for that and that alone which is a shame as I'd used the platform for years. They were fine with the comments advocating for violence towards the real woman.

I wish more sites would ban people for copying and pasting AI (especially Google’s AI, the world’s most unreliable one), TBH. I don’t care about whether your political leanings/feminism aligns with mine, use a reputable source like an actual dictionary or write your own words!

ACatAsleepInYourHat · 29/09/2025 10:39

If you’ve been on Reddit for years, you can’t be surprised about this, surely?

I wanted to use the official definition according to the dictionary.

I have seen incorrect definitions in dictionaries. Just because something is printed somewhere, doesn't make it correct. If the definition was correct, where is the issue?

Well you should’ve posted that not an AI generated response.

As with PP, I wish more sites were banning AI copy and paste content.

Oh that's not the reason they banned me. Reddit allows AI content but bans anyone who doesn't support trans-ideology.

There is a GC sub again... but you know what the mods are like on all the other subs

BlueJuniper94 · 30/09/2025 14:23

Just make another account?

kellygoeswest · 30/09/2025 14:29

Do you mean you were banned from the entire platform, or just a particular subreddit?

tobee · 30/09/2025 17:15

What a load of stupid replies totally ignoring the op's point.

userwhat632 · 30/09/2025 17:19

This makes me want to get a Reddit account. We need more GC posters there

What does GC stand for in this context?

It's not so much what you posted. It's where you chose to post it.

Oblomov25 · 01/10/2025 21:09

"Reddit bans anyone who doesn't support trans-ideology."

Really?

I didn't know this.

GingerBeverage · 01/10/2025 21:11

It’s not reddit, it’s the moderators of reddit. A large percentage of which are trans.

Christinapple · 01/10/2025 23:58

They might have thought you were a spambot.

Go ahead but from what I've seen GC users don't last long on Reddit.

r/gendercritical got banned for hate and it's against reddit rules to create a sub for the same purpose of an already banned one.

Yep. It's not so much that I used Google's definition but that you can't oppose transgender without facing the ban.

You seem to be familiar with Reddit, so maybe you are the person who can finally explain - under the logic that you have said that Reddit uses, why don't the longstanding sites dedicated to violent male on female rape porn get banned?

I thought those sort of sites were banned. That porn is illegal, right?

Yes, quite, they are very fine with that kind of violence, aren't they?

But say anything on gender ideology that goes against the mainstream and you are instantly banned. Happened to one of my accounts, too.

The subreddit r/feminism on Reddit appears to have been taken over by transwomen and a few handmaidens (though the ones presenting as handmaidens might actually be men too. Who knows. )

Just had a scroll, this post is interesting: https://www.reddit.com/r/Feminism/comments/1nnqa8f/theyve_lost_the_plot/

1.2k upvotes and some comments making fun on lib fems. So that board has that (against sex work / porn / kinks) in common with Mumsnet. But it has the view on TW are W in common with lib fems. So naturally it's the evil TERFs of Mumsnet who are vile humans, and lib fems are just to be made fun of.

It wasn't when I worked for a company that analysed computers for the police. That was over a decade ago though. If it's consensual roleplay it's legal.

GaIadriel · 21/10/2025 17:53

It's not even the worst. There are sites out there where you can watch all manner of horrible real things. Like ISIS beheading people, cartel dismembering people alive. It's pretty grim. They brand themselves as 'uncensored' news sites.
