Please help! I'm a long-time lurker but first-time poster. I am trying to find a documentary to demonstrate to my partner the issues surrounding the porn industry.
My understanding of the issues are:
- negative treatment of women/performers in the industry
- increase in expectations of coercive/violent/extreme sexual acts from the men (and women??) who consume porn
- decreasing pleasure from 'real-life' sex and increase in erectile dysfunction amongst men who consume porn
I think DP has a notion that it's not a pleasant industry but I would like to show him something from an authoritative source which will enable him to see for himself and really believe it, rather than me 'lecturing' him. Ideally it would be measured and concise but cover all my points above.
If no such documentary exists, perhaps a podcast or online article(s) might?
N.B. I am aware that this is a nuanced issue but I am not here to debate inherent rights and wrongs of porn, I just want something that summarises all the things I have read and seen over the years about porn in an accessible way.
