Simon has undoubtedly done this before and will continue, because he's just learned that there are no real consequences. Been placed on the sex offenders registry for 18 months. The gym will continue to employ him.

The judicial system is a complete mess. At the moment there's no room in male prisons and VAWAG is at crisis levels.

We need a robust response to sexual abuse because if it's happening with impunity then it will get completely out of hand.

I know several girls who have been raped and did not go to the police. If there is basically no way to get a conviction, why put yourself through that?

Something I did not know was that not all sexual health clinics have rape kits. So women/girls go there for help and are then told, they need to go somewhere else if they want a rape kit applied. Severely traumatised women and girls basically have to go on a scavenger hunt for rape kits. If they choose to stay at the clinic they are at (which I assume the majority do), then that clinic destroys any remaining evidence with the procedures they do. This system is truly set up to protect perpetrators.

I know over 20 women and girls who have been raped in the UK and in two other European countries. 2 got a conviction, and they were extraordinary cases, eg. one was a girl who had been raped by a man with AIDS. He got 2 years.

And none of this is accidental. As you stated, these systems - like Mormonism, and probably every patriarchal religion - are designed to facilitate men's unlawful access to women and girls with minimal risk of consequences to themselves.

He's not even lost his job?! Do we know what gym this is so we can complain about them employing a predator who uses their premises to commit crimes against women?
