Yesterday eire_historian on Threads remembered Ashling Murphy on the anniversary of her murder while jogging on a canal path. Today Threads has removed the post. Hitherto the site had hosted a lot of pro-women posts. This is a alarming change.

"My post was removed by @threads last evening: I had asked people to remember Ashling Murphy, a 23 year old primary school teacher who was murdered at four-thirty in the afternoon on 12 January 2022, whilst jogging here on Fiona’s Way, a popular canal path in Tullamore, Co. Offally.
The path is named in honour of Fiona Pender, a pregnant 25 year old woman who had lived nearby and went missing in 1996.
No reason was given as to how this post contravenes the so-called community standards."

Thank you for calling attention to this matter. It's deeply disrespectful of that site to remove the post about Aisling Murphy, shame on them.
We can remember her though, and her loved ones will never forget, God love them!
Rest in Peace Aisling, Lord have Mercy on her.

Update - I’m glad to see my link above now leads to several posts commemorating Ashling Murphy and mentioning her murderer’s trial. So I guess the deleting of Eire Historian’s post at www.threads.net/@eire_historian was a mistake. Hope so.
