I was snowed in on my own, when we had the Beast from the East - dh was down in London, and couldn't get back - Glasgow airport was shut and there were no trains up here either. I actually quite enjoyed it - it was very peaceful - but it would have been a lot less fun if the electricity and interwebs had gone down!
As it was, I had plenty of food - although if it had gone on much longer, meals would have become random selections of stuff from the freezer. The main problem was keeping a path clear from the back door to the lawn, so the dogs and the cat could get out and do their business. We've got two steps down from the back door, then two up from the patio to the lawn, which makes a lovely, deep area for snow to gather in. The dogs could probably have got through it, but the cat would have vanished without trace, so I kept going out and shovelling a path - and then the wind would blow and/or it would snow again, and fill up all my hard work!
To be honest, I don't actually know if the cat went out at all, for 4+ days - there were no paw prints or signs of him having been onto the lawn (where I cleared a patch of grass for him) - and no signs of accidents round the house either. Maybe he just kept his paws firmly crossed?
Dh finally got home on the Saturday - still no trains or planes to Glasgow, so he got the train to Carlisle and paid a local taxi firm an arm and a leg to get driven the rest of the way.
