Can someone explain why Lush is anti woman? I’ve seen it mentioned before on an old thread but I can’t find what specifically is going on? I’ve tried to do a search both here and on a search engine, but I must be rubbish at it because I haven’t found what it is. I’m not being facetious or anything, this is genuine as I shop at Lush because they stock some products that work with my skin sensitivity, but I don’t want to support anti-woman businesses and I’d like to know the specifics.

I know at one point they were facilitating breast binders being given out and didn't restrict it from being available to children. Not sure if there's been anything since then.

If start by googling Lush breast binder, you'll get some hits that start to explain the problem with Lush.

They "encouraged" ie heavily pressured their staff to work naked apart from their uniform apron to promote their packaging free stunt.

Revolting exploitative company.

Thank you @tinydancer and @franke , in reading an article about this, I see they also apologised for giving funds to a woman’s group, which upset trans activists? So they then backpeddled and gave money to Mermaids and others?

@HellonHeels Ugh, just read an article on this
, exploitative 😒

Lush opens packaging-free Manchester shop - and staff went naked too

The cheeky stunt was staged to highlight the global environmental crisis posed by plastic packaging

From what I know it's their stance on Trans ideology.

Well I had no idea. Jesus. 😵‍💫

I knew about the breast binders, not the rest.

caramac04 · 03/09/2024 17:58

I’m not a Lush customer, didn’t know about this stuff and will definitely remain a non-customer.

TrainedByDinosaurs · 03/09/2024 21:32

I’m sure I remember reports of anti ‘terf’ posters on some Lush shop windows, but can’t remember where? can anyone else confirm?

This was enough to ensure I will never set foot in a Lush shop.

There was a user on twitter who went public ages ago on the bullying. There was even an allegation around an employee not getting time off after a miscarriage. Will try to dig it out. And these are very much ppl on the Right Side of History who would be appalled to be quoted here by the way.

Meanwhile there is this Reddit from US employees
