I've joined soroptimist international..
Its the worldwide movement for women and girls. Represented at the united Nations..
They meet like any other club. Have been around 102 years and until recently I've never heard of them.
All the local and national projects they do get written up for the united Nations to see a snapshot of the volunteering in the UK.
Have a look online at www.sigbi.org
The clubs are a mix of older people in 70s and 80s who never got into Social media and younger ones starting up. If you can't find a club you can have 8 of your friends join together and make one. It will take 3 to 6 months but it's what we have done here in Northampton UK and is worth it. The national AGM is in Edinburgh 1-3 November. It's national but the Great Britain and Ireland also includes Bahamas and India. So always a diverse meeting, Have a look. Ask questions. Join in. And yes we are open to anyone who identifies as a woman.

Soroptimist International GBI (SIGBI) - a women's organisation

And yes we are open to anyone who identifies as a woman.

So, not a 'worldwide movement for women and girls' then. Just a social club for anyone.

Ask questions
Of whom in the organisation would one ask the question as to why they have decided to allow men in dresses to join and whether that decision is likely to be revisited?

You had me interested until the last six words of your post OP. No thanks.

This all sounds amazing

”Soroptimist International is a global volunteer women’s organisation working together to transform the lives of women and girls with nearly 66,000 Members in 121 countries. Soroptimist International Great Britain and Ireland (SIGBI) has over 5,000 Members in over 250 Clubs in 17 countries including Great Britain, Ireland and countries in Asia and the Caribbean, who work at a local, national and international level to educate, empower and enable opportunities for women and girls.”

Except you believe men are women, so pretty pointless really 🤷🏼‍♀️

One of the more dedicated Mass Observation diarists wrote about being a member of SI during WW2. It was women only then.
