How many ballots were spoiled?

I've tried googling but can't find the information. I know lots of women were talking about spoiling ballots, but do we know how many there were compared to last election?

It doesn't appear to have been collated and published yet.

The parties will probably be more concerned with a drop in turn out from ~67% to ~60%

Labour have a clear win, but it strikes me as a sullen one, based on them not being the Tories, rather than great support for what they are offering. No sense of optimism that I can detect.

I don’t know the total but I was working at one of the counts and watching the spoilt ballot papers being processed and validated was really interesting.

Every single one was personally assessed by the presiding officer, if something was written legibly it was read out & a decision made on the intention of the individual and on some quite a discussion took place between candidates (or their teams) on whether the vote was actually intended for one party or another.

I was one who wrote :none of the above.' I knew my Labour MP would retain her seat which she did with an increased majority on a lower turnout than previously.

40,867 votes / 73371 total votes and 121 spoilt ballots in my constituency.

I spoilt mine with
Women = adult human female,
Keep single sex spaces separate

Ordinarily I vote for Lib Dems or greens so pretty much the same as spoiling my vote anyway.

Reform got in, I suppose the silver lining being they hate women and are misogynistic but at last they know what a woman is and don't buy into gender ideology.

Anecdotal, but I was counting. Of the 20,000 votes in our count area (approx 1/3 of the constituency) there were 50 spoilt. Of those, only one said 'Women = adult human female', and the senior count supervisor (a woman) looked at it and went 'eh?'.

Oh good lord, really??!!

Out of interest, are you able to give any indication what the other ballots were spoilt with? Is it just people drawing nobs or what?? 😅

Yeah, some people draw nobs. Some people write rude words. These ones make us laugh. Most of them are really dull, either just a scribble over the whole page, or totally blank.

Doesn't matter who cares. Means absolutely nothing.

Not that many. It shows that MN is a bit of a bubble tbh. Harsh as it seems. Our area had 122 and only (according to one of the Labour supporters who were there who I know) there were more cock and balls than any women's rights ones. She was quite disappointed as was I.
