I want him not to be able to give me the flannel that we have to be kind to the woMen. I want assurances that we do t have to share our spaces. I want to not sound like the very nervous person that am I!

Any help appreciated?

@JanefromLondon1

Hope you are ok as I can only imagine you’re adrenaline is still pumping.

just listened to catch up with my 14 year old daughter. Her comment “why is he not answering the question” and “so when I play football do I have to play against 6ft, muscular transgirls”?

Im so sad I desperately want to vote Labour but im genuinely terrified of this.

AGlinnerOfHope · 28/06/2024 19:43

There was a name change fail or two. It may be a glitch in sorting it out.

@JanefromLondon1 Why are your posts deleted? Am late to the party and wanted to know what happened!

It says due to privacy concerns. I imagine Jane is concerned about being identified.

With good reason.

CormorantStrikesBack · 28/06/2024 19:45

They’re loving you on Twitter, saying you held h8m to account better than most reporters @JanefromLondon1 James Dreyfus has tweeted in support!

Witchymadwoman · 28/06/2024 19:45

AGlinnerOfHope · 28/06/2024 09:20

Here we go- you say there is no problem with legislation as it currently stands.

Why won't you listen to the women who have been trying to explain the problem with current legislation? Why have you silenced the women in your own party trying to explain the ramifications of the current situation?

The perfect question. I signed up for this platform specifically to thank you 😊

@JanefromLondon1 I know it must be scary to find yourself catapulted into the spotlight like this. You’ve done a brilliant and brave thing. I hope you see all the support you have here and beyond and that you’ll be super proud of yourself once things have all calmed down a bit! ❤️

Datun · 28/06/2024 19:49

Jane, I hope you're reading all the support.

You did a tremendous thing. All it takes is being given the opportunity to expose this nonsense, but you are the one who took it. And did it brilliantly.

You're Everywoman.

Personally, i totally understand if you are worried about backlash.

If you want to lay low. Do it. Circle the wagons and protect yourself.

Because that is all part of it. The fear women have of speaking out. Women will broadcast that. On your behalf.

Take the love and thanks. And disappear if you have to.

FlirtsWithRhinos · 28/06/2024 19:49

I'm confused by the name thing... I thought it wasn't possible to use two different names on one thread any more?

(Also, go Jane!👏👏👏)

Dymaxion · 28/06/2024 19:49

It is indeed an echo chamber - as in pretty much everyone knows that TW are men. They just are.
Mumsnet and Twitter, being anonymous, mean that people can say what they actually think. Not what they're forced in to saying by whoever.

Exactly, I work in health and would be in so much trouble if I said a true and biological fact out loud at work, that fact being that people cannot change biological sex. And actually I am all for being kind, I have spent the last 20+ years being exactly that to every single patient I have met, regardless of what they wear or wish to be called, but I cannot believe that people can change biological sex, because it is physically impossible to do so.

Datun · 28/06/2024 19:50

Fuck kind!!

Yeah, baby!!

LadyNellCardross · 28/06/2024 19:53

You've just featured on Channel 4 News Jane. Well done. I think you've very politely showed how pissed off many women are with politicians pretending we don't matter unless they want our vote.

And Dymaxion's position is multiplied hundreds of thousands of times over. Countless women and men silenced for fear of dangerous & aggressive proponents of an ideology who have until now avoided having to be democratically accountable for their actions.

DonnaDonna0 · 28/06/2024 19:54

Keir is going to single handily loose the Labour Party this election, if I were them I’d minimise his exposure 😂 (I do know that can’t happen but he’s killing them slowly)

HermioneWeasley · 28/06/2024 19:55

Jane, JKR a loves you!

It's not just Keir.

BirthdayRainbow · 28/06/2024 20:01

Let a bad man into a single sex women's safe then true horror can ensue.

Not let a trans woman into a single sex women's safe place then slight temporary annoyance may ensue.

ilovemyspace · 28/06/2024 20:02

@TheMarzipanDildo Also I voted for Starmer to be Labour leader

should you be admitting that on this thread ........ in public n evryfink! 😳 😂😂

senua · 28/06/2024 20:03

You've made several newspapers.
I'm not on TwiX so can't join in the trending there but I'm busily clicking on the links. Hope the message is getting through to the newspapers, TV channels, etc.

EasternStandard · 28/06/2024 20:04

Jane you're awesome.

You've made several newspapers.

And I've seen something in the Telegraph.

Brilliant. So many comments in support

ilovemyspace · 28/06/2024 20:06

@JanefromLondon1 Thank you! Just .......... thank you!
You said so succinctly and so powerfully what so many of us think - we thank you!

Gruttenberg · 28/06/2024 20:06

Vote for Jane!

Absolutely this. The fear these men and their enablers have put into women. Scared to state simple biological fact and let it be known we want to be safe and have dignity.

#Iamjanefromlondon we should all stand up and say it.

TheaBrandt · 28/06/2024 20:08

Played it to Dh who’s job it is questioning people and he nodded along with Janes questions - which is high praise indeed!

His question is “what is kier so frightened of? Women are 51% of the population?”
