I want him not to be able to give me the flannel that we have to be kind to the woMen. I want assurances that we do t have to share our spaces. I want to not sound like the very nervous person that am I!

Any help appreciated?

@ImplacableDiscernment I hope someone is actually helping the vulnerable young adults you know by not validating their delusions that one can actually change sex. One can't. Sex is immutable. I hope no one these young people know is making everything worse for them by lying to them.

dougalfromthemagicroundabout · 28/06/2024 18:11

Thank you Jane, you were and are magnificent and you speak for me too.

There are a lot of angry women scared to speak up, I feel a bit braver after listening to Jane. Courage calls to courage.

currantbunandfawltytowers · 28/06/2024 18:12

Very, very long time lurker who has eventually signed up to be able to say - Brava Jane!!

borntobequiet · 28/06/2024 18:14

I still don’t understand who or what is driving this. A few days ago they seemed to be moderating their stance. Now doubling down. Have we heard recently from Wes Streeting? He looked a bit rabbit in headlights after the weekend JKR debacle.

@ElleWoods15
Mumsnet is made up of millions of mostly mums from every single different walk of life. Rich, poor, old, young, fat, thin, left, right. And as you can see from any thread on this, the vast majority of us agree with Jane. It is indeed an echo chamber - as in pretty much everyone knows that TW are men. They just are.
Mumsnet and Twitter, being anonymous, mean that people can say what they actually think. Not what they're forced in to saying by whoever. Therefore mumsnet and Twitter who are overwhelmingly TWAM reflect what people actually think.

Jane if you’re asked onto a tv programme do it 🙌

Thank you. I'd be terrified it would negatively affect my husband and kids. Although my husband is very proud of me. I'm also job hunting at the moment and I don't imagine my views would go down well with most HR departments at present 😂.

FPFW might be onto something. This does not add up:

"Have you noticed @keirstarmer using the term ‘protecting spaces for biological women’. That’s the kind of language that normally gets howls of derision from Stonewall and accusations of transphobia. Not a peep from the main trans rights groups. Silence.

What’s the deal here? Stonewall gives Starmer an easy ride so he can appease troublesome women voters and then it’s full steam ahead with the trans agenda once he’s in number 10?"

Well they have just appointed a new CEO in time for next week. A CEO who reanimated his career from retirement to take the post. A man who was on the board of directors whilst Stonewall wreaked havoc on women and children.

I'm almost certain they are preparing for it to be back to business as usual on the 5th.

zen1 · 28/06/2024 18:22

Jane, you rock! Thank you for holding Starmer to account on such an important issue ❤

todayweareconfused71 · 28/06/2024 18:22

Please everyone do speak up. Speak to everyone you know about this. I don't feel particularly brave, terrified and furious but not brave.

Not sure if this has been put on here already but we can never get enough of Jane 👍

Ooh looks like the Government have now picked up on this.

I think Keir Starmer snd Rishi should make themselves available for a MN question and answer session on this topic.

Would they have the balls to do that?

It gets easier and easier. I wear my adult human female top etc round town and literally get clapped. Not one negative comment x

@JanefromLondon1 OMG you were bloody incredible. Clear, articulate, passionate. 🌹

Hello! From a former long time lurker. There are lots of lurkers pressing the thanks buttons it's really lovely to see new names pop up. Come on in wimms!

todayweareconfused71 · 28/06/2024 18:27

Oh gawd. Sorry I'm trying to change my name but it all keeps messing up.

KeirSpoutsTwaddle · 28/06/2024 18:28

@JanefromLondon1 I have namechanged in your honour!
<twirls>

Hyperions · 28/06/2024 18:28

Thank you Jane

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 28/06/2024 18:29

When is the penny going to drop with Labour that this issue is not ever going to go away. Even after the elections. Women are furious.

Well done Jane for showing him up.

RebelMoon · 28/06/2024 18:29

Report your post and see if MNHQ can sort it out for you. I think you've earned a favour or two today.

Mylovelygreendress · 28/06/2024 18:30

You have inspired me and today I have written to all the candidates in our constituency asking questions about biological sex issues .
So far only the Conservative candidate has replied with a very firm commitment to only biological women being allowed in women’s changing rooms etc .

KeirSpoutsTwaddle · 28/06/2024 18:30

@JanefromLondon1 I have reported one of your namechanged fails and asked MN to correct it.

You can too, more easily as you can see which ones are yours!

StopGo · 28/06/2024 18:32

"Absolute twaddle" @JanefromLondon1 brilliant and well done.

For those saying this is a none issue and they don’t hear these views outside MN - this is why.

Jane you’re amazing!!

Viviennemary · 28/06/2024 18:33

VitaSays · 28/06/2024 16:36

Well done, Jane. This is Keir's Gillian Duffy moment. Gillian Duffy was the woman Gordon Brown called a bigot without realising the microphone was still on. That caused damage to him and the party.

What is it about Labour men that they are all so quick to accuse a woman who disagrees with them of bigotry and hatred?

Oh for heaven's sake get a grip. Trying to depict all men as wild hair yeti type creatures is getting more than a little silly.

Sweetpeasaremadeforbees · 28/06/2024 18:33

There's an adult human female flag in a garden that I sometimes drive past. Although it's a village it's a very popular road and I do wonder if many people wonder what it stands for. I smile every time I drive past.
