Shamed by colleagues

I wore a skirt to an important meeting with a manager and my colleagues said I was being flirty and tarty.

I joked and said, well it's either legs or tits and I went for the legs.

This was obviously (for me) a joke and in no way shape or form would I fuck the boss to get ahead 🤢.

Skirts make me feel empowered. And my femininity is empowering to me.

Now I feel shame - bought on by my colleagues. I feel cheap, nasty and confused. Maybe I'm not empowered. Maybe I was in denial?

In a turn of events, my manager turned out to be a total perv.

Am I at fault? Was I playing with fire?

Unless your skirt was so short and tight that you may have not been wearing it, then it's a load of bullshit.
If it was a perfectly normal office-type skirt, what's the problem?

outdoorsky · 13/03/2024 11:55

It was ankle length to be precise. Don't see the problem either. They are jealous bitches anyway.

Was what you were wearing appropriate for the setting?

I work in an office where women regularly wear dresses and skirts, no one really comments beyond the ‘oh that’s nice, where’s it from?’ Remark.

Do you have a picture of the skirt?

BranchGold · 13/03/2024 11:56

Oh dear.

SirChenjins · 13/03/2024 11:57

Nice try

outdoorsky · 13/03/2024 11:58

I usually dress quite drab but I thought I would dress up as it made me feel better.

I kept on getting comments such as I was trying to impress the boss so I made a joke about it.

Turns out boss was total perv too. 🤦🏻‍♀️

You should've opted for tits if you only had a long skirt.

Actual lol

tillytoodles1 · 13/03/2024 12:04

So it wasn't tits OR legs then?

T0ASTER · 13/03/2024 12:05

What do you think they're jealous of? You don't sound very nice

T0ASTER · 13/03/2024 12:05

Do you want us to ask why the boss is a perv too?

PinkFrogss · 13/03/2024 12:06

If you were wearing a long skirt does that mean you had your boobs out? Confused

MadelineWuntch · 13/03/2024 12:07

Tits or top of foot, it's a thing.

BIWI · 13/03/2024 12:11

Personally I find showing off my brain to be more empowering. But as they say, 'you do you'

She was wearing an ankle
Length skirt. Hardly showing off her legs.

Although I agree op that makes your comment about tits or legs really weird tbh

Wishimaywishimight · 13/03/2024 12:24

How is wearing an ankle length (or indeed any length) skirt empowering?

outdoorsky · 13/03/2024 12:27

Knee sorry not ankle 🙈🙈 just above the knee.

OP posts:
deydododatdodontdeydo · 13/03/2024 12:40

Grateful for the ankle to knee length clarification.
I was picturing a pervy Victorian boss leering at a glimpse of ankle.

outdoorsky · 13/03/2024 12:45

@deydododatdodontdeydo 🤣🤣

“Skirts make me feel empowered. And my femininity is empowering to me.”

Well clearly it isn’t because you feel shamed. Bizarre.

WaterWeasel · 13/03/2024 18:47

It's not half term is it? Maybe this numpty had the day off school ill.
