Just saw thread by Malcolm Clark twitter related to Womens Institute Event which includes paedo apologist/supporter Nettie Pollard 😱

WTH!?!? What are they thinking??? She is long time supporter of PIE (!) and has been very outspoken on the age of consent....

I can't see Nettie Pollard mentioned in the link, and neither does Malcolm Clark's thread specify the way in which the WI is platforming Pollard. Do you have any more information, OP?

Look at that event Panel 7 doesn’t have any participants listed all the others do. The screenshot shows Nettie Pollard in the list of participants for panel 7. Id guess the WI quickly updated that event page to remove all the participants.

Although I’m a little confused as the linked event appears to be a London South Bank Uni event not a WI event. Still appalling to invite Pollard to speak

They removed the panel members!!! Here is screenshot. Does that mean she is or isn't going to be in attendance?

I think I heard Helen Joyce comment once that when an organisation starts down the trans route, it quickly loses its original purpose. So stonewall is now a trans rights rather than gay rights organisation, ACLU isn't interested in free speech any more, planned parenthood is very focused on trans rights etc. Obviously the WI isn't interested in women any more and is allowing itself to become a male paraphilia focused organisation.

I think that's an excellent observation Stephanie. And once it's in.... impossible to get out and back to purpose. That's why it should never be allowed in the first place.

The LSBU event with Pollard as a panelist has sent out an update

‘Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances we have made the decision to postpone the Workshop and will now hold this event online in May 2024 (date to be confirmed). ‘

Hopefully they’re starting to get the message that women don’t want the likes of Pollard speaking for them. We need to keep an eye out when it’s rearranged to see if they have the same line-up.

Excellent result - yes hopefully they do get the message. I mean it begs belief that they would platform such an abhorrent individual!! Next the Conversion Therapy ban debacle.... another waste of taxpayer money whilst genuine needs are not met....
