Just a little share of pride that my daughter is recognising and ridiculing misogyny now.
DH took DD(17) over to my mum's today to pick something up for me. Stepdad was making small talk and suggested that DH goes to the pub on Christmas Day with him while I prepare Christmas Dinner. (They're coming to us as usual) DH politely declined saying how he'll need to stay home to help cos I'm cooking for 8 and I'll be stressing and Stepdad nodded toward DD and said how it's okay, she'll be there to help!
DD is not usually asked to help and DH doesn't cook, I don't actually mind but DD is totally offended and came home laughing.
Apparently she, granny and I need to be heading off to the pub this year and grandad and dad will cook cos "screw the patriarchy! The Cheeky sod!"
She didn't say anything other than "Ugh, I don't think so but I'll come to the pub and you're buying!" to stepdad but both she and her dad were laughing at it on the way home. I'm more proud every day of the woman my daughter is growing into.
Her dad has just told her, being a funny cnut, to hush up and go in the kitchen and make him a sandwich. She threw a cushion at him of course.
