BBC Look East report

Just watched my local news (east) and they had a report showcasing a chap called Josh from All In Racing. He was talking about lack of inclusion in cycling now that trans women aren't allowed to compete with women.

I felt they didn't give enough weight to the opposite viewpoint. Is it worth a complaint or is that OTT?

Not on iplayer yet but probably will be later...

There was a lot of focus on him, and his point of view.
Look east, like all local news is always biased to the person from that area whatever the story. I suppose it's understandable but sometimes it just seems daft.
What I mean is it is biased towards him because he is from Cambridge, rather than because he is pro trans cyclists.

Look East used to be so cosy and simple in the 1970's.
Complain!

@hexsnidgett Right but that assumes there is no one in the entirety of the East of England who holds another viewpoint and I know for a fact that there are.

OP yes this sounds like something to complain about. Maybe Josh or friends should try being less shit at cycling then Josh or friends wouldn't have to compete against people who are smaller and weaker.

Fair point. It was about him I suppose and not an 'issue' piece. It just felt really unbalanced! I just thought the reporter could have challenged him a bit more, especially on the pseudoscience. Journalists are supposed to be a bit more savvy and ask the questions viewers would want to.

I may complain, just thinking about how they had a whole report centered around a man telling women what they should accept.

Go for it, complain, complain and complain again. If you don’t they think you agree. I always fill in questionnaires and feedback forms with my views on women’s rights to single sex sports , shortlists etc.

So I complained but heard nothing back. I guess they don't care about editorial standards.

That's odd. Did you definitely tick the "I want a response" button on the BBC complaints page? If you did, they usually send you a long snotty email back telling you why they're right and you're wrong about any given complaint.
