AIBU to think it's despicable in this day and age that there are potentially at least FIVE OTHER (alleged) male sexual predators high up in the British comedy industry?

If they can cancel Glinner at the height of his career for alleged (non-) "crimes", that shows it IS possible to utterly cancel these predators and they're not doing it. If you've ever been in any doubt about whether cancel culture is just a way of silencing people who disagree with the TWAW kool aid, take note that none of these predatory comedians have been cancelled because their crimes only affect women.

Everyone in the industry knows who they are and they just let them continue. What does that say to prospective comedians? Women don't matter. We don't need women in comedy. Women should stay away from comedy unless you can hold your own and physically fight off an entitled male, and if you do manage to fight him off, you'll probably never work again.

I'd hate to think I've ever spent a PENNY buying tickets to line the pockets of someone who behaves like this.

Why can't men just not do this? Police themselves? Push out the men who behave like this so they find themselves without friends, colleagues, audiences and money instead of ostracising the victims by doing nothing? And doing nothing IS ostracising the victims because few women would keep showing up to after parties to network, enter competitions, do panel shows etc when known abusers are there as well.

I love comedy. This isn't what women should expect nor have to put up with.

Comedy's MeToo moment? Russell Brand's behaviour was 'open secret'

Claims Russell Brand was a sexual predator were an 'open secret' in the comedy world and today others were named as potential offenders as the industry's MeToo moment appeared to have begun.

I hope MF isn’t one of them.

Brand's father has defended his son against claims he abused women for years, calling them 'unproven' and declaring: 'Is this seriously the most important thing happening in this world?'
Ron Brand, 80, is the man the star credits for super-charging his 'rapacious' sex addiction after he lost his virginity to a prostitute paid for by his father who was sleeping with two more women in a neighbouring bed in Hong Kong.
Brand Sr has today hit out at 'unproven' allegations about his son, and suggested that dark forces including the BBC are pursuing a 'vendetta' against him, as more women came forward to accuse him of abuse.

Lovely.

@DustyLee123 Yeah I hope a lot of my favourite comedians (captured or otherwise) aren't systematically doing this to women.

It would be terribly ironic if any of the 5 were vocal "moral" arbiters.
