These women are amazing for waiving their anonymity to talk about their experiences of being raped by the same abusive man, and how the justice system treated them. And one of them has put something into words that I've been struggling to articulate for ages

Jennifer said: "He was always treated as innocent until he was proven guilty - we were treated as liars until proven truthful."

Rape survivors 'battered and bruised' by justice system

Three women raped by the same man say they want to reform the way victims of sex offences are treated in courts.

That really is true, isn't it? My sister was raped and the police told her they wouldn't prosecute because in court, no one would believe a word she said. It was pretty clear they didn't believe a word she said either, even though she was wearing her clothes from the night before and had gone straight from the guy's house to the police station after being held hostage by him and raped three times at knife point.

They were interested to know if the guy was dealing drugs. They based this on the fact he was black. They said if he was dealing drugs they would be round there in a flash. Their words.
