Not sure who has or hasn’t been keeping up with the buzz around the Barbie movie. Some very scathing reviews that have come from men about it and comments about Margot Robbie.

Observations made that men quite literally voted her the sexiest woman. They were all behind her when she played Harley Quinn: a mentally ill woman wearing tiny clothes and ponytails and acting in a childlike manner. Or when she was playing her role in the Wolf of Wall Street. An over sexualised trophy wife.

Yet now she is playing Barbie and it is not the movie they expected, her character defies the interpretation that she is just a doll to be dressed up and look pretty they are actually on a smear campaign against her. Tearing down and even denying her beauty all because her role was a significant demonstration of feminism.

Little gobshite in incels, they are.

They're the men in clubs who when you have to say for the umpteenth time you don't want a drink/dance then say... "you're a fat slag anyway".

Pretty much exemplifies the point made by the movie.

Having said that, intelligent sensible men I know have all enjoyed the film.

It's the small minded insecure men who have got an issue with it.

I was talking to my brother about the film today and that I surprisingly enjoyed it. I explained it was funnier than I expected, a little cheesy, which I enjoyed and had some really nice moments. To which he commented that I must of liked it because of all the men bashing.

I think a lot of men are annoyed about the film but don’t fully understand a women’s perspective on things.

Saying that, I went with my dh who really enjoyed it. He even suggested a few of his friends should see it and said he hopes things are better for our baby girk
when she’s older.

I think its a small but vocal minority tho. I dont know one single man who saw it and didn't either enjoy or it or just have no thoughts on it at all... not heard any negative reviews based on the feminism aspect from anyone I know in real life. My husband and son both enjoyed it.
I think media outlets try and stir up hype by promoting the most extreme views when in reality its not a big deal. This movie is the top movie out at the moment and is widely loved. Its not going to harm Margot Robbie or her carer in any way what a bunch of inches think about how hot she is.
