Cara Delevingne on the F1 grid

So I will start by saying that I know nothing about Formula 1. But I’ve seen this story flying around about Cara Delevingne https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/formula-1/cara-delevingne-martin-brundle-interview-30426931.amp

So The interviewer approached her on the grid, asked if she could have a quick chat - to which she said no - he then said people on the grid ‘had to talk’ to him because that’s the deal. She then said she can’t hear anything so he walked away and made a sarcastic comment about how it would have been an ‘extremely interesting chat’. She later tweeted to say she was advised by the F1 team not to talk, so she didn’t.

Is it just me or is this bloke just a raving misogynist?

He approached her, a neurodiverse young woman, asked her if she could chat, implying there was an option. Then told her she had to. And when she didn’t obey his commands he made a snippy comment that she isn’t interesting - so why approach her?! And when did it become OK to openly make women feel uncomfortable. I bet my bottom dollar he wouldn’t have responded such a way to a strapping 6’5” bloke.

Hmm, I thought he came off as a pushy chauvinist, and the subsequent furore was a load of old sexist twaddle. Each to their own I suppose.

If you aren't familiar with him or the sport I can see why you would think that, I would too. But he really doesn't typically give chauvinistic vibes, and as said above, she was there to promote something which is typically done by talking to the press!

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta Jones give their view of Martin Brundle. In the F1 world he is a legend.

#F1: Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones & Martin Brundle share a moment of genuine appreciation:)

Sorry, No. Fuck Cara Delevingne. You want to get the cachet of being photographed on the grid? You play the game, otherwise fuck off. Seriously I don't need this nonsense, people who are on the grid need to engage (coz that's why they are there, otherwise, don't be, simple as. Thank fuck he called her out.

Yeah OP, she wants the benefits of publicity being invited on to the F1 grid where it's known by F1 fans and press that means your are expected to be available to make relevant comments to the media. If she didn't want to do this fair enough no one forced her to be there, get off the grid.

Her having adhd is totally irrelevant and is not a get out of jail free card for being rude or not plying by the rules. Sick of neurodiversity being used as an excuse for bad behaviour, coming from someone who has many ND friends and my brother who think she acted like a dick
