Have I just seen the worst ad ever!

Ad for Belvoir drinks

Is it just me or is this the worst clarification of a French sounding drink? Reminiscent of France and culture.

Apparently Belvoir drinks should be pronounced "Beaver"?

Wtaf?

Still wince at seeing BeaverTown ads for beer so this is a step too far.

Having an ad blocker, I haven't seen the ad. That might be inappropriate, but the name isn't.

It is pronounced "beaver", as in Belvoir Castle, Belvoir Hunt etc. An old name which I imagine was Norman French, where the English pronunciation has changed over the years.

Struggling to imagine this brand with an inappropriate ad- they're very wholesome, fruit and countryside vibe.

It's got nothing to do with modern France and modern French culture. It's a classic English brand named after the farm where the company started.

Take it up with the 11th century Anglo-Saxons, who mangled the Normam French name.
