Just pondering this years events and wondering what a womxn is (as seen in an event I looked at).

I haven’t seen much publicity about this years IWD. There used to be local events - meet ups, coffee mornings, talks, workshops.

Is it just me or is it fizzling out?

Well as no one can define what a woman is, how can we have a day celebrating them? It’s definitely fizzling out. Which is a shame. I think it’s needed more than ever.

Feh. I’m feeling the need to do something on the day. I generally wear purple.

We had a lunchtime company online event yesterday. We had a couple of speakers - one of our treasurers and one of our directors. Then chat and fun. We had quite a a few of the guys join us. We're a global NGO and have worked hard to close the gender pay gap and support women in our organisation. I joined last year from the public sector. My public sector organisation was good at this but my new organisation is a whole bigger level of good. I work in a technical field and the empowerment i feel since joining is awesome. I wish every workplace was like mine.
