The 'one bad apple' thing keeps being said, but the whole phrase is 'one bad apple spoils the whole barrel'. Perhaps we should start saying that if the police or anyone dismiss concerns with it was just one bad apple, we should ask them if they are the bad apple or the rest of the barrel. The only way not to let the rot spread is to chuck it out.

I don’t believe it’s one bad apple, it’s corrupt to middle and bottom with a handful of good cops. It will take nothing short of a miracle to recentre the ethos.
