But the more this kind of thing gets out there and starts being touted as a possibility, the more people will opt out of organ donation. You used to be able to specify which organs to donate but I don’t think you can now. So I’m out, because there’s no safeguard against your organs or tissues being used for purposes that you would find abhorrent.
Can relatives override your wishes not to be a donor though? If I died suddenly and my dh was asked to donate my organs, he’d probably say yes because he’s opted to be an organ donor himself.
