My God I am just watching a report on this on Sky news. I’m appalled. So many women came forward who he had previously raped and they were ignored. He had five complaints of sexual abuse against him and he was still in post!
He’s admitted 49 counts against 12 women. 24 accounts of rape over an 18 year period.
So disgraceful. Those poor women. Profound issues with vetting and monitoring. And internal reporting against people who you depend on to have your back just doesn’t work. The investigative services need to be independent of the police.
Given the previous cases of Wayne Couzens , and also Deniz Jaffer and Jamie Lewis who took pictures of murdered women, this isn’t exactly a case of a lone wierdo is it?
And what about all those wives and partners of police officers who suffer domestic violence?
When will women be believed? No wonder rape is under reported.
I have teen daughters and God forbid if they were attacked or sexually abused I would hesitate before advising them to
go to the police now tbh.
