Disappointed that the 'Males in female spaces' thread has been removed

What IS the matter with MN?

Why take down a thread that was addressing a serious issue?

Next time, just delete individual replies if they are 'offensive'.

Such heavy policing really puts me off MN.

Agree on all points. I think certain posters were deliberately being goady to get it taken down. Can't tell others the hidden truth, can we?

Itisbetter · 30/12/2022 00:57

They’re scared like everyone else

FictionalCharacter · 30/12/2022 04:46

Very disappointing. If people are successfully getting threads they don’t like taken down by posting something offensive or goady, those people are basically deciding what we can and can’t talk about on MN.

Delphinium20 · 30/12/2022 09:17

I read most of it. Lists of good convo about women who don't consider the comfort and privacy of other women when they let their men invade boundaries.

IAmWomanHearMeRoar1 · 30/12/2022 16:21

It's still there (in AIBU) unless there is a different one?

Thanks @IAmWomanHearMeRoar1

There was another thread with the same name. It got pulled.

I think anti-women's rights people pose as anti-trans people, deliberately post inflammatory anti-trans messages and swiftly get the whole thread deleted.

It's a shame @mumsnet can't see this.

why has @mumsnet not responded?

Norma27 · 31/12/2022 05:25

Mumsnet are allowing themselves to be played by mens rights activists and are participating in shutting down womens voices.
Despicable.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 31/12/2022 15:25

It was accurate. Women don’t want their spaces invaded by men.

Have seen too many anti women's right posts on MN. Many say they have DD so they need to "protect" them from trans people. This topic is not even a discussion until the American Christian brought it to the UK, with the anti choice stance.

Many posts get taken down.
MN only have one voice. In the Surrogacy section, only anti surrogacy posts are allowed. It is mental. It is pushing more and more people away from MN.

why has @mumsnet not responded?

Probably because you can't tag MN staff with that.

MN only have one voice.

Can't tell what's a parody post these days and what isn't!

why has @mumsnet not responded?

Because they are cowards. Soo many threads get zapped for spurious reasons these days.

Well, this is a fact-free post if ever I read one.

UnicornRidge you say
1. Have seen too many anti women's right posts on MN.
2. Many say they have DD so they need to "protect" them from trans people.
3. This topic is not even a discussion until the American Christian brought it to the UK, with the anti choice stance.

I can’t make sense of this.

  1. is true, but the anti-women posts tend to be made by trans activists. So this doesn’t fit in with your other statements.
  2. Those parents are making a fair comment about the risk posed to girls by males in previously single- sex spaces.
  3. The Christian right has no influence in the UK, although it is constantly cited by trans activists. Women do not need permission from overseas religions to defend their rights.
WallaceinAnderland · 19/01/2023 14:27

MN are constantly targeted by MRAs. They have done an absolutely fantastic job when so many other organisations have silenced women. Even the police were arresting women for tying ribbons to trees if you remember.

MN has clung on in there through, hopefully, the worst of it. So what if threads get pulled, we'll create new ones. We won't be silenced.

Thank you MN 👏

Fimofriend · 20/01/2023 09:02

I hope MN is not pulling the threads for fear of what the advertisers might say. After all most of us would prefer not to support misogynistic companies anyway so if that kind of trash take out themselves it is only good for us. It would be even more helpful if MN would let us know which companies have a problem with women having rights.
