I wouldn't mind joining, but the ones local to me only meet in the evening. I want something during the day

My mother also says it's for old people (she's 75) and can't stand any kind of clique. It's like the PTA Moms + 30 years on. I don't do PTA either - those in it were only out for the school gossip!

I tried once and was told I was too young. I was 40. They were quite snobby and unwelcoming.

I've completed the questionnaire, in the perhaps vain hope that WI will see sense and return to being women-only.

When I moved to a new area, my lovely neighbour invited me to join the local chapter. I was up for it until I read about their enthusiastic embrace of men with the paraphilia-that-dare-not-speak-its-name [can we say that here now??].

And that was it, for me. No way I'd risk investing time in building relationships with local women in a setting where a man can just come along and ruin it, and merely for the sake of his own jollies.
