Wonderful news that Chris Dawson has been sentenced and will likely die in jail

For anyone who has not listened to the podcast, it is called Teachers Pet, and has been instrumental in raising awareness of the case.

That is great news. I listened to the podcast a few years ago and remember feeling incensed that he could get away with killing her.

Yes. Except the poor family will never be able to lay her to rest. Since he'll die in jail, likely in the not too distant future, he's got zero incentive to reveal where her body is (no body, no parole laws.)

First I've heard of the case. What evidence was there (no body, no forensics)?

Listen to the podcast what
It is "circumstantial" evidence but pretty damning. I'm glad he's been convicted.

It’s such a devastating story. The fact that a mother who loved her 2 yr old and 4 yr old and parents, friends, siblings and colleagues would just disappear without a trace (and taking no money or possessions) and her husband’s 16 year old girlfriend (his student at high school) would move in with him 2 days later without any proper police investigation defies logic. I am glad he was convicted but so angry that it took decades.

And now been convicted of “carnal knowledge” of a girl under 17 while he was her teacher.

I’m interested to know if his subsequent employers are going to investigate if there was wrong doing. And if his brother is also charged.

Finished it!

Really scary to hear how many people were concerned but did nothing because he had this halo of being good looking and sporty and influential. In relation to his treatment of Lynette, her disappearance, and the whole circle of grooming and abuse of vulnerable teens.

It sounded as though there is/was a parallel investigation into the total failure of safeguarding in the area.
