The 9th annual report into maternal deaths in the UK. It sounds the alarm on inequalities and finds that Black and Asian women still have a higher risk of dying in pregnancy compared to white women, and recognises that some women's voices are missing from the conversation.

Did they not say before that black women were x5 more likely to die than a white woman?

So, though this is still horrific - it is a bit less horrific. Which is encouraging.

Hello, the 2019 report showed starkly that black women 5x more likely to die in pg and childbirth.
