Failure of a state focuses on women with uncovered hair in public. Fuck's sake.

What do you expect from this regime. Thank the French for harbouring the man w ho started it

No, it’s not fascism. I really get fed up when people toss out terms they know is for something bad without really understanding what they mean.

It’s simply the usual actions of a theocracy (cracking down on perceived immorality), but using modern day technology. They have been for decades arresting and imprisoning women for having their hair uncovered. This is simply using technology in addition to patrols of police, informers snapping off photos, and back room police types trawling through SM for evidence.

And this is news to you?

This is a drop in the ocean to a situation that has been ongoing since the beginning of time in this region

Thank you for posting about this, The Islamic)ist) Regime is working with our abusers of human rights Russia and China and Venzuela to move its oil and maintain power. China has been helping with the facial recognition. This is why the argument about surveillance, ID cards, smart phones and so on is relevant, the counter arugment is "It protects me I have done nothing wrong so I've nothing to fear" , but what happens when the power gets into the hands of a party who have radical ideas, and your ideas about how life should be clash with them? You are suddenly outside of the permitted norms and you are powerless. One day in Iran the radios announced women had to cover up from the next day or else. And the women came out to protest but they have been forced to cover ever since, 43 years ago!!! It could happen anywhere, this is where Margaret Atwood took her ideas from for the back story in Handmaid's Tale, when it shows the takeover by Gilead and the main character is working at the time, her bank account is frozen, the atmosphere shifts, and before long she is subjected into sexual slavery! Fiction taken from reality.
