My Newsnight appearance

I wonder if people would mind sharing this post of mine along with the hashtag #GlinnerVindicated anywhere they can? It might be a way of getting an apology or even just a rematch.

Worth a shot. Thanks in advance.

I've shared on Twitter.
FWIW I think you were treated appallingly.

Interviewer: brings up nazis and concentration camps
Interviewer: spends rest of time telling you off for bringing up nazis and concentration camps????

ummmm yup ok then newsnight. We knew you were telling the truth then, more people know you were telling the truth now. Thank you for using your privilege to amplify our voices.

I mind. Very much.

You’re posting here, again, not even in the right board, to promote your own specific agenda.

Does any other public figure, writer or journalist get a free pass from MNHQ to promote their work in threads like this?

Use your own email list, sub stack and socials and stop spamming MN feminist chat with your agenda.

Or at least bother to post on the sex and gender board, not the feminist chat board. The presumption that we’re all on board with your position is infuriating.

@Perlunk : ah so you have a habit of telling people to shut up with a definite serving of hostility.

Yes, I thought the same, @Mysterioso

And yes, I agree that Newsnight owes him at least a “re-match”.

Me too.

I am sure MN will move it Perlunk if they feel its on the wrong board.

Graham is as free to post here as anyone. He made a request not an order so you can just choose not to help him.

Is it me or do interviews border on aggressive with anyone pro womens rights/safeguarding but often have a special soft voice when talking to trans rights groups/organisations?????
Like Jeremy Vine???
News night person constantly talked over Glinner!!!!

Agree with you. The type of voice usually reserved for stories about abandoned kittens etc.

Oh I’m so sorry, am I not being sufficiently kind to the poor hard done by celebrity? Stop tone-policing me.

There is literally a whole board, one click away, where the revered Glinner would have reached his GC fan club a lot more effectively.

And please do share the names of any single other celebrity who gets a free pass to use MN boards to promo their content.

I'm confused, the link is to a David Bell appearance re the GIDS, and this doesn't seem to be what the thread is about, or have I missed something?

MN is a broad church.
Anyone can post.
Glinner has just as much right to post as you do.
If you don't like his posts (or any other posts) you can simply act like an adult & ignore them.

Couldn't agree more, Perlunk. And the fawning that ensues every time he posts is, quite frankly, embarrassing.

Namerchangerextraordinaire · 01/08/2022 13:52

Really Perlunk?

How disingenuous.

I can't think of a celeb that Mumsnet would delete, because if one of them posts as themselves, it would bring shedloads of traffic to the site.

Just like everything else on the internet, if you don't want to know, then move on to the next post.

Cannot understand why some people continue to vilify a man who recognised child abuse and the mutilation of young people . Strange.🤔

Well, you can safely assume he isn't talking to you. You absolute bore.

I agree Glinner should have an apology from the BBC. He won't get one, though. That interview is a barracking and what is striking is the focus, clarity and reason which he managed to maintain on the key issues despite the relentless deflecting to the chosen theme being hammered by the interviewer to the point of unreason.

I doubt it is fawning. I don't know who Glinner is, apart from he is involved in the world of TV. But I am interested in reading articles.
