She was raped, and had to travel to Indiana to get an abortion because she was denied in her own state.

The poor girl was 6 weeks pregnant, and a doctor preformed the abortion.

Now the doctor is being investigated.

How fucked up is this world?

It’s so awful.

AnyFucker · 27/07/2022 18:36

Not a mention about any investigation into who impregnated the 10yo 🤨

Soubriquet · 27/07/2022 18:36

I just don’t understand it. Even if you’re against abortion, surely you wouldn’t put a traumatised 10 year old through a pregnancy and birth?

He’s been charged apparently. It was on another article.

He admitted to the rape but still pled not guilty in court

Christ. From the Attorney General’s comments about “abortionists” and “monumental progress towards saving lives” it’s clear what side he’s on. And clearly wants to intimidate other doctors from doing the same. He is “investigating” her even though she very clearly followed all of her state’s rules.

I despair.

Any person who thinks ax10yo should be forced to carry a baby to term is a child abuser imo. She is as entitled to her life and health as any foetus.

This does seem to be case that have universally outraged people.

I bet the doctor has zero regrets.

I know I wouldn’t.

That's just do disturbingly wrong I don't know where to start. Thank goodness the child was able to access treatment in Indiana. These laws are about controlling women and girls, punishing them for being female, not about "saving lives". Bloody hypocritical bastards.

VikingVolva · 27/07/2022 18:52

CNN is reporting that what the doctor is being investigated for concerns

  • violation of patient privacy
  • failure to report a TOP carried out on an u-16 (state law requires all abortions on minors be reported in a timely fashion. CNN say they have seen emails which appear to show he did that)

JaninaDuszejko · 27/07/2022 19:00

Indiana is very split politically, this is a case that only the extremists would think an abortion shouldn't be allowed so this poor child is being used as a pawn by both sides. Unfortunately that's the way it'll have to go while both sides fight it out, girls and women whose medical care should be private will be dragged into the press as examples to prove each side is correct.

Rightsraptor · 28/07/2022 08:34

The article talks of 'people who are pregnant' and 'pregnant individuals'. Not much mention of who those might actually be.

Saving lives, my arse.

Whatwouldscullydo · 28/07/2022 09:06

That poor little girl 😢 . Never mind the pregnancy and birth might kill her thats totally ok as long as she doesn't get an abortion.

I.hope the dr doesn't regret helping her. Someone had to.

The states is fucked up. How is this being allowed to happen. Shes 10 ffs. Probably still has a Teddy in her bed and sleeps with a night light.

Shame on all those allowing this to happen.🤬

Do not underestimate the misogyny. Being a woman IS a punishment from God it is good and just that you suffer (why yes my family was Catholic why'd you ask?)
