Why is it assumed all women want to lose weight

I am skinny/slim always have been and always been on a mission to gain weight. I’m 5ft 7 and even though I’m a healthy weight I look lanky.

I would love to be bigger and see lots of women bigger than me who are absolutely GORGEOUS. They don’t imo need to lose any weight.

Was reading an article about jeans today and there was a comment ‘and it has thre advantage of making your legs look slimmer’. I was TRIGGERED 😂. Why is it assumed the reader needs slimmer legs?

It is soooo patronising.

What the fuck?

I don't know, what the fuck? Neither does anyone else when that's the only thing you say. Are you expressing surprise to OPs post, or having difficulty understanding something that's been said? Either way no one knows your views if you don't want to share them.

Actually, Adelishious , to most people it's perfectly clear that Sexy is expressing surprise and shock at your thoroughly unpleasant, sexist post.

'Too many overweight wonen around' implies that women are permitted to exist only on suffrance, and that overweight women shouldn't be around since they aren't fulfilling their womanly purpose of being a delight for other people to see.

'just to become more attractive in general' shows us that you are shallow, and judge only on appearance.

No confusion at all.

I don't feel there's any attack on 'reproductive rights'.

Ah, my mistake - you're just a troll.

Not wasting any more time.

RavenousBugblatter · 17/07/2022 13:08

@JustWaking, nor me.

It's so easy to label someone a troll than to partake in any meaningful debate.
Non of my posts are sexist in the slightest. It's no surprise that the UK is suffering an obesety crisis so of course this includes women also. The amount of women that are overweight is worrying.
And as for wanting to be attractive, that's just normal, of course it's not the only thing one sees but personal appearance is a big thing in anyones book so to pretend it's not is outright denial.
This stuff shouldn't be offensive I was merely stating what we know as known facts.

It's annoying. I hate the whole 'flattering' thing, it's just stupid. I wish they could just drop it and say these are nice jeans instead of these jeans are 'flattering' because they make you look like you are thin when you're not. I've been reading another forum recently because of the world championships and seen a lot of it there too, it's assumed that every woman wants to be thin and in fact that if someone criticises their weight they are lying about it.

This marathon runner was told by a spectator she was 'too big' to be a marathoner, but when she posted about it a lot of people said she was lying.

It is really worrying.
