bit, not but.

IrisVersicolor · 04/06/2022 18:42

No I think a lot of detail in the trial was misinterpreted. Heard throws something thus she is the sole abuser. Heard winds up Depp thus she cannot be a victim. Heard cries too much, doesn’t cry enough thus Heard is a scheming hussy who concocted lies to destroy a nice man’s life. Yadda yadda.

TiddyTidTwo · 04/06/2022 19:23

Iris
No one with two brain cells who has studied the trial believes that. Well I hope they don't, I certainly don't.

There a lot of nuance. It is not black and white

I understand her frustration with him sometimes. But she put herself out there as the victim, it was all him. It wasn't. It was a toxic relationship, absolutely no doubt about that but she has been absolutely poisonous since, she's lied, she's exaggerated and sold herself as an ambassador for women survivors. She isn't.

She's still doubling down now. Her statement afterwards: A DDD "doubling down on the defamation" when a court jury unanimously thought otherwise. Narcissists never accept they are wrong and never take responsibility. Hence implying other witnesses are liars. Elaine going on TV saying the judge was wrong, the jury have been corrupted. It's madness

Miscfeminista · 04/06/2022 19:25

So ACLU spent a lot of their resources to provide testimony and they were counting on Depp to pay for those but then never received anything or what happened?

Misc

They produced a few emails and documents. It's not hard. If they bill at that rate then it questions what percentage of their donations go to those in need. They've lost a lot of their donators due to their behaviour over this and like MSM they won't admit they maybe have fucked up.

Aspiringmatriarch · 04/06/2022 19:32

Thinking about how many staff and other people around Jeffrey Epstein who must have known what he was up to for years. They never spoke out. This is what happens with wealthy, powerful men. Nobody 'sees' anything.

Miscfeminista · 04/06/2022 19:34

Oh ffs. She was star struck, I would not want to meet effing JD the abuser no matter how much he wanted to meet me, she didn't go for party but he clearly tried to drag her in on his side. This was so inappropriate but not at all surprising

If there's any marginal win, I suppose it might be that male DV/DA survivors see it as a bit liberating. But Depp is as poor a model there as Heard, so it's not great.
@houseonthehill
I agree mostly with that.
Is there any good models for male DA / DA?

Miscfeminista · 04/06/2022 19:38

And listen to this 😂they sound like fox news 😂

"If there's any marginal win, I suppose it might be that male DV/DA survivors see it as a bit liberating. But Depp is as poor a model there as Heard, so it's not great."

Absolutley not. The only men gloating about his win are gaslighters, abusers and DARVO lovers. You really got your shit mixed up here. This is genuinely sad to read

Misc she's not court staff. Both legal teams picked her and were happy with the choice. She worked incredibly hard throughout that trial.

That day she had to get her oil changed for her car. The court had closed early by the time she returned so JD legal team picked her belongings up. She went to collect her belongings and she was there for 10 minutes.

Nothing she did in that courtroom swayed the jury. She was doing her job.

Once again, MSM bullshit pushing a narrative where the poor woman has to justify herself

Plus JD always acknowledged her in the court, as did the judge.

StormzyinaTCup · 04/06/2022 19:41

Elaine going on TV saying the judge was wrong, the jury have been corrupted. It's madness

It is madness and Elaine is running the risk of 'doing a Waldman'. I would imagine Elaine has been told by her client that 'it's all your fault people now think I'm a liar' and has instructed her to 'get out there and fix it'. Zero accountability as per.

TiddyTidTwo · 04/06/2022 19:44

Stormzy. Elaine was going to do yet another interview but at the last minute pulled out.

Maybe someone had a word in her ear that the general public, no matter how much you try to gaslight us and basically tell lies, ain't buying it!

Or Michael Jackson.

When there’s fandom involved and the bedazzlement of fame, people see what they choose to see.

TiddyTidTwo · 04/06/2022 19:50

"people see what they choose to see"

That applies both ways.

Aspiringmatriarch · 04/06/2022 19:52

No one with two brain cells who has studied the trial believes that. Well I hope they don't, I certainly don't.

Pretty sure I have more than two brain cells and I couldn't disagree more.

It's sad actually that you have such tunnel vision about this. You're attributing every possible evil motive, mental delusion and machievellian plotting to a woman and her (then) friends rather than thinking that just maybe, all those texts, contemporaneous reports going back years, witnesses who saw her injuries, and photos exist because Johnny Depp was a violent addict who hasn't had to be accountable for his behaviour for decades.

You're fixated on all Amber Heard's but don't seem to even want to acknowledge the obvious patterns showing a man who is jealous and can be incredibly vindictive, has violent ideation, is casually misogynistic, destroys property, has a documented history of assault, has lied on the stand in the UK, has people sign NDAs left right and centre and expects his staff to show unquestioning loyalty, aquire illegal drugs for him and take care of him when he's out of it.

He's back in court in a few weeks for another assault. He's best friends with Marilyn flipping Manson for goodness sake! I have no doubt he can be all the wonderful things his friends and supporters say. But by his own admission he's a completely different person when he falls off the wagon.

You don't have to think Amber is a 'nice' person, she obviously has her own issues, but how in God's name can you not take off your blinkers and see Depp for what he is? As a victim who in your own words was driven to the point of insanity and behaviour you're not proud of, it's really disappointing to see you obsessing over this one woman's behaviour rather than seeing the blatant power differential and incredibly problematic behaviour of Johnny Depp.

And if you think it's a good thing for victims, that they can come forward more easily now that a defamation case has been won in which the abuser wasn't even named, then you really need to give your head a wobble.

StormzyinaTCup · 04/06/2022 19:54

Maybe someone had a word in her ear that the general public, no matter how much you try to gaslight us and basically tell lies, ain't buying it!

Yes Tiddy I wouldn't be surprised. The gaslighting by MSM during and now following this trial is quite something to witness, they are so out of touch. A large proportion of the general public now recognise this for what it is and aren't having it.

Aspiringmatriarch · 04/06/2022 19:54

Is there any good models for male DA / DA?

Yes but mainly with male perpetrators, so not nearly as much fun.

Miscfeminista · 04/06/2022 20:13

"She's not court staff. Both legal teams picked her and were happy with the choice. She worked incredibly hard throughout that trial."

I never said she influenced the trial and I agree she must have worked hard(have no doubt about that)but they were presenting it oh she was totally not cordial with JD in any way...well to have your equipement transfered by any side of lawyers is fine but to go meet JD was just so unneccessary and she seemed very happy to meet him. He pushed to meet her because he wants to get up people's ass when it serves him and makes him look better. It didn't end on camera by accident, he's been trying to convince everyone he's an amazing guy throughout trial. For someone who has listened attentively what he had done(as was her job)and then to go say hello and act like he's just another nice person to meet is bizarre to me

He's always been like that. His bodyguards have to move him on otherwise he will spend time with fans for hours. This is nothing new for him. He's friendly and appreciates everyone. On set many people have said he has time for every member of staff. He's never been aloof.

Seeing it now being twisted like he's now doing something new to make him look good is frankly, bollocks.

Say what now? Eh?

TiddyTidTwo · 04/06/2022 20:34

I'm re reading that post for the third time and still lost?

You lot?
Gestapo?

Is someone butthurt because I'm engaging with other women who has a different viewpoint to me but it's a debate, we respect each other even though we disagree.

I'm probably wrong on a lot of stuff as I talk my my own heart and beliefs but no one on here when they disagree have tried to shut me down, we engage further.

I think you've posted a shitpost before flouncing...

Anyway back to the thread...

"people see what they choose to see"

That applies both ways.

No it doesn’t, because in the context of the full sentence - there are the people bedazzled by Depp and there are the people who aren’t.

The people who aren’t, are much more accurate and balanced in their assessment of both sides.

Agreed. Toddler tantrums are best ignored.
