Cara Delevingne being pasted by the press, misogyny at its best?
KnightonShiningArmour · 21/05/2022 08:00
I know it was a few days ago, but I’d been mulling it over in my head since I saw the press and social media coverage. Azealia Banks has been supportively tweeting about their friendship (while also dragging the artist who Cara was with).
Cara is a bisexual woman who has had lesbian relationships in the public eye who is being painted as predatory. She’s been accused of fetishising black women. She has ADHD but the tongue pulling (a tic?) and is described as weird.
This feels very lesphobic and misogynistic to me. I know she’s in the public eye and the PR companies must pay her well but this stinks to me.

What has her ADHD got to do with her trying to lick other women’s faces she has always tried to shock
not all women want her to approach them and for her to lick their face
maybe her laying of the cocaine would make her behaviour less erratic and demanding of attention

If a straight man were licking women’s faces without consent he’d be rightly branded as a predatory sex offender. Why is it misogyny and homophobia to say the same about a lesbian woman attacker instead of a straight man attacker? It’s still sexual assault from the perspective of the victims.

Some get compulsions you don't have to give into them and they can be managed but it takes effort and drugs or alcohol will exacerbate this

Ah, didn’t mean to post and run but day took a busy turn.
I think if she wasn’t openly having same sex relationships she’d be described as ‘fun loving’ or a little eccentric.
She might be acting like a right dickhead in public but the response seems disproportionate to me.

I barely know who any of these people are but I can see why Megan Thee Stallion would have edited the photograph. Delevigne's behaviour was weird and unacceptable and even if it hadn't been the photo was clearly for promoting Megan and the other person and didn't need the frankly odd looking gurning Delevingne right in the middle.

I would have been very uncomfortable to be on the receiving end of such behaviour.
She seemed to be on a little too much of something not sure why she couldn’t leave the poor woman and her dress alone.
If she was a straight male is be surprised if the same behaviour didn’t make it to the press. It hardly happened in a small bar or something did it.

Overall Cara's behaviour was out of order and unacceptable starting with the bit with Megan Thee Stallion's train to her dress when she was posing on the red carpet. Cara doesn't appear to respect the boundaries of others at all and is quite rightly being called out for it.

No idea who any of these people are.
But have read through the article and would like to hazard a guess that Cara is akin to who I was when younger - in my circles, I know now as a 40 year old, my behaviour was atrocious and inappropriate.
I'm both autistic and have ADHD.
And drugs or drink exacerbated that.
The thing is, noone ever called me out on it, and I wasn't the only one in my scene who behaved that way. Most of us were (and still are obviously) ND.
It's only as I look back now that I cringe deeply inside, having eventually learnt some social etiquette or at least learnt what isn't ok.
She literally looks like me when I'm with similar friends - tongue out, trying to buoy up peers but getting in the way/ getting it wrong, that kicked puppy look.
That's my observations and thoughts. For what they're worth.

I think Cara is one of the worst examples of someone who is famous for fame’s sake. She/her agent seems to do everything possible to get/stay in the public eye. On my daily commute from work, I used to deliberately look for that day’s Cara story -it was a bit of a game. There was one every day (Evening Standard).

Not a fan of the woman but she made it as a model in her younger years... she can hold a pose and look good in a dress so I don't think she is famous for fames sake a la alicia fouvalp/ kerry katona although undoubtedly her family connections helped her get where she is.
Agreed she probably had a few too many lines of something that evening and was cringing after...
