Thank fuck for that! I thought he was too thick skinned for recent criticism to actually prompt a change. It does make me wonder if he is concerned something else might come out if he were to stand again (but I have deeply suspicious mind and absolutely no evidence to support that).

As someone above said, he has probably been offered a boot and a title upstairs. Johnson knows he will get a kicking in the next general election, he will be culling the bad seeds as fast as he can.
