Mercedes F1 team put out a series of statements and tweets today about the season / Abu Dhabi / etc. Here is the one thanking the team using the phrase “women and men”. It’s such a small thing but I honestly don’t think I’ve seen it before.

I’m sure some will argue that it is performative in such a male dominated sport and maybe it is, but clearly someone thought about it and the senior people who sign off such things decided it was a good thing to say. Chapeau to them.

Thank you for posting that.

It's nice to see the occasional variation in phrase patterns

Lewis’ personal trainer is a woman & he is pretty vocal about owing a lot of his success to her.

That’s one of the things I really appreciate about Lewis Hamilton. He always thanks the men and women who have worked with Mercedes which stands out in an industry where many others celebrate success with a ‘Yes boys!’. Small change in wording but a powerful one.

Christian Horner (team principal of Red Bull) this year made a point the thank all the wives and girlfriends of the team 🙄

I've often wondered about 'Ladies & Gentlemen - Boys & Girls'

Shouldn't it have been 'Ladies & Gentlemen - Girls & Boys'
or 'Gentlemen & Ladies - Boys & Girls'

But they seem to have mixed the orders up
