Interested in peoples views on this. Whilst I can't say I think it's the wisest career choice in the world, I also think she's stuck two fingers up at a male dominated industry and taken back control/money (no doubt only fans is male owned somewhere too though!)
Also the Hollyoaks hypocrisy - the show that gave us Randy Mandy when she was 14...

I'm torn.
I hate Only Fans and what it stands for.
I roll my eyes at people who need that sort of approval from strangers. But she should not have been fired.
Unless there is some sort of clause in her contract?

Whatever about her having an OnlyFans account, seeing as Hollyoaks used to publish calendars such as this I think they should pipe down with their faux moralising.

I believe there is a clause about "adult content" but these girls have been doing FHM/Nuts etc for years.

I just don't know.

In the past there has been news about different sexes getting treated differently for similar things. I think teachers years ago?

I don't watch Hollyoaks btw.

On one hand Hollyoaks is about gorgeous young people etc and always has been

And the calendar etc.

On the other hand I don't know if she is selling explicit material to individuals on the site.
The point about Hollyoaks viewers being young and incentive to go OnlyFans which has all sorts of stuff going on. Is a point.

Just don't know.

On the feminist thing. The fact that a male Hollyoaks star would be way less likely to monetise body looks by doing that. That it's normalised now that if you're young woman (and girls see recent news etc) then selling images is a great way to make money is really regressive and just not at all good.

Just don't know.

In the end I'd say she's doing something really standard.

The problems are related to the sites, that anyone can access, wider issues about objectification.

Her losing job over things nothing to do with her is on balance pretty rubbish.

It’s not a wise career choice. A lot of celebs get attention when they first join OF, but this soon dies off when their fans get bored of seeing their pictures.

What kind of content is she selling? Without looking it up, it’s hard to tell. Is she just doing lingerie/hand bra type shots like in lads mags, or is it hardcore stuff? If it’s the former, then I feel the show is being hypocritical.

The "sisters are doing it for themselves" argument really annoys me tbh, and yes the owner of Only Fans is male. Tim Stokely is worth about £150m. How much is Sarah Dunn worth?

The images/video women (famous, partly famous, or not) sell on OF are for the male gaze, it is absolutely feeding into the patriarchy, prostitution, the exploitation of women, misogynist attitudes where women are seen as objects and men are entitled to see women and this kind of 'feminism- the fun kind' or the 'get your tits out for the lads' feminism as I like to call it.

Girl power it all you like, it's the same old exploitation of women, women using their bodies to make money, where men pay to see women's bodies and have a wank.

Sarah is not doing women any favours here. This argument that she controls her image and it's her choice has it's very foundation in men wanting to see her naked/in lingerie. Is she benefitting financially? Sure. What will she do when they get bored and want to see more?

The platform also allows children to be exploited. Anyone involved with it should give have a word with themselves.

Well she's not, but she's also just doing what is seen as fairly standard now.

It's the normalisation, the pushing of a yay easy money empowering thing. The utter lack of any kind of ethics from the companies around loads of really awful content exploitation underage etc.

I'm not going to blame individuals for doing things that are basically normal these days.

I blame the reasons this stuff exists so widely, the orgs profiting, and the ever present objectification of women by men in society. And that men should get whatever they like and judging is BAD mmkay...
